Us, The Flowers

Us, The Flowers

A Poem by ***Tori***

I am a flower,

But keep in mind all flowers wilt and die.

My petals are drooping,

My head bowing.

The cold will come in on a breeze

To frost over the grass and trees.

There in my garden will I cease to grow,

Because now I am waiting for the snow.

In my garden I am not alone.

So many other flowers call it home.

We all suffer from the same blight,

A chilly winters night.

We are now brown an old,

So very cold.

All dead and gone,

Buried deep beneath the snow.

We were not perennials.

We can’t be saved nor resurrected come spring.

Our time is lost,

Our beauty faded,

Once jade leaves,

 long since jaded.

So from the departed flowers,

Goodbye.

Perhaps admire our beauty in another life.
