I miss you

Love you mommy...

Mommy I miss you,

I can't live without you,

when you left me I cried,

but I wont allow your soul to die

You will live on in my heart, my soul, and my memories.

 

You took care of me,

you watched over me,

and tucked me in every night.

You told me you loved me,

and with a hug, you held me tight.

 

But what I never realized was that you were hurting inside.

I should have been there,

I should have known what was wrong,

But now its too late,

Because my mommy is gone.

I am very bad at writing poetry but I made an attempt.
Anyways, I wrote this a few months ago when I almost lost my mom.

Don't self-deprecate, other people will no doubt hand out critique; don't give them something to look for, allow them to find it themselves.

Lovely poem, really sincere and heartfelt, conveys beautifully and competently your feelings and fears at that moment. Puts across the devotion and dependency between mother and child, one which is often clouded or even forgotten in later life. I tip my hat to you for sharing such intimate feelings.
