What Used To Be

What Used To Be

A Poem by topsyturvy

I’m staying away

Far, far away from you.

You left me dried and choked up as if I were choking on glue.

Can’t believe you’d do me this way

After all we’ve been through

Remember I was the one who was always there for you.

You’ve left me in pieces thinking I’d always pull through

But you’ve got it wrong.

I’m done doing everything for you.

You used to be my whole world

A shoulder I could lean on

But what happened now

You’re the one who pushed me to the ground.

Anyway I guess I’ve said enough.

Never again will I believe your bluffs

You put me through hell long enough

I’m saying farewell to the good old days

When we used to be

Simply put. Happy.
