Living Nightmare

Living Nightmare

A Poem by topsyturvy

Gasping for breath, she reaches above.

For anything to break her fall.

Streaks of red shatter her vision..

She blacks out.

The dark haired raven caws out loud.

A homing beacon to the one I love.

She shouts and screams

Impatience shatters her broken frame.

She can't sit still.

What's happening? What's going on here?

She bites her nails till the blood gushes out.

She scratches her face..

Somebody wake me!

This isn't happening...

Leave  her alone!..

Take me! You want me, leave her alone!

FATHER!! Take me not her!

-----

Hovering above her, the man whispers her name.

She gapes up at him, silently cursing him.

She whimpers.

Stop. Stop this.

------

This isn't happening all over again.

Dream after dream, the devil takes me.

Day after day he controls me.

Uses me. Abuses me.

Stop it already.

Let me break free.

Damn this dream let me be!

Please.... Somebody.. Wake me..
