Slumbering Release

Slumbering Release

A Poem by topsyturvy

Every night she stares

Pitifully at her own weaknesses.

Striving for the power of light

He took off in his dire need of plight

Up up and away into the midnight sky

She stares helplessly.

Gazing intently,

Though she remains unfocused

Unknowing in her surroundings she begs

Release me from this dreary feat.

She succumbs to eternal darkness waiting for her sweet slumber.

Abruptly awakened by the force of his hands

She gasps out in fright as he takes off his tights.

She lies awake every night.

Forcing herself to remain conscious all through the night.

All day… tears streaming down her face…

She lies awake staring…

Staring… through eternal darkness she forever slumbers.

Very powerful and sad! Great description of despair, fright and agony after being abruptly ruined for life by the act of another! Wonderfully written!
