All She Sees is Red

All She Sees is Red

A Poem by topsyturvy

Went out today with a heavy heart and a troubled mind.

I stop the voices in my head.

I clasp my hands around my ears,

And all I see is red.

Liquid warmth starts pooling in my mouth.

I spit it out, and all I see is red.

My shirt and jeans are drenched

And all I see is red.

I go through the motions.

Day in, day out.

Darkness rimmed in red, and I wake up.

Yet why is it.. when I awake,

All I see is red?

All I see is red mommy,

All I see is red.

And so curious, she leans in close.

She looks deep into my eyes.

Her eyes widen as she takes it all in.

I hear a soft cry escape her lips.

She runs from me, screaming.

She runs screaming, half mad into the night.

All I see is red.  Baby, all I see is red.

Man, you really gave me chills. I really liked how we were just thrown into this story only
to speculate why and how. This soul consumed by emotion left a mark. You expressed the
feelings within and brought them to the surface with great vision. You cloaked this person
with so much emotion that the emptiness I felt was just as powerful.
Mad Skills.

Kamusta Tops...breathtaking poem...it lingered and dwelled in my thoughts...I like that it made ponder...a very dark write that echoes Pain.
