In The Shadows of YesterdayA Poem by topsyturvy
As I get down on my knees
I swallow my pride and pray. The distance, a long shot from okay. The heavens part as I lay, The midnight sun strikes again. His hollowed words Such a delight, is frightening. No moon and stars are alike. The spark and wisdom dies. At an early age she succumbs There is no hope in her eyes. The fevered pitch and rhythm Swallows the fear whole. It comes and goes in season and time. For which no one truly knows. Alas he starts a few years later, Another one follows through. The shadows once a felon, A charismatic charm ensues. The drastic change follows suit. © 2014 topsyturvy |
