Walking On Eggshells

Walking On Eggshells

A Poem by topsyturvy

Living life tiptoeing,
Tiptoeing around people.

Relax, can't relax
Jittery, oh so jittery
The nervous feelings consume me.

The moment of abandonment
The release of energy
It consumes me,
The nervous feelings consume me.

A life in the fast lane must surely not be for me
For thinking bout it, just thinking,
The nervousness consumes me.

A walk in the park,
The city streets at dark,
The beach, the backyard
I see a man walk behind me.
I turn around he's gone
All I see is the shadow around.

Paranoia sets in,
Oh wonderful
And so it begins.
I dread this night
As it consumes me from within.

Trapped, oh so trapped.
The jitters are back.
Sweating hot and cold
Palms fisted ready for attack.
The nervousness consumes me.
It's back, oh it's back.

Out! Get out.
I need my life back on track.

wow. So I say it often, the door to becoming a great lies in ripping open your soul and letting it spill out on the paper.
I love how you show how this nervousness consumes you, and I am willing to bet most people in your life would comment on how brave you are!
