Believing

Of the amount I feel love.

The expectations skyrocket and

Then they fall

And once again

The bar is lowered.

I cling to affection

Like its oxygen, I

Pretend that one dose is enough

To sustain me.

But I am left gasping for air, 

And I fizzle out,
