Wearing The Blindfold

Wearing The Blindfold

A Poem by TopHatGirl
"

The world's at your feet.

"
Leave the room
exit the building
evacuate the city
hand over the world

Float down the river
thumping for another rhyme
sailing for another lover
but running out of time

Backing out of the request
regretting turning down the will
never getting any more guests
when it feels alone, the world goes still

But then it's all in slow motion,
walking up and down the hallways
looking for an answer
That one potion

To find how just to stay

Go
Go faster
Speed up
High volume
Just pumping
Punching walls
Revving the car
Searching for another high
Burning the survivors
Banging the drums
Stomping just to hear
Going
 deaf
Shutting
your
eyes
Covering
 your
 mouth
Denying it ever happened
Tune it out
Just lying
Breathing

Author's Note

TopHatGirl
Nothing that stands out. Except that this is probably my first poem where I refused to use puncutation.

Inspiration: Blindness by Metric
