Divorce

Divorce

A Poem by TopHatGirl
"

You're hurting someone else as well.

"
  Torn in two
   Love broken
     Papers signed
      Rings trashed.

                                  The real victim
                                    isn't them.
The child.
Heartbroken.
Into depression.
Slowly turning back the clock
Suddenly they won't speak
or breathe.
Dad drinks
Mom cries
Maybe it was for the better.
Or maybe it just about killed

              her,
 their baby girl.
Who loved them both.
But she cried and cried,
when she discovered:
her parents didn't love her anymore.

It really is what children think when their parents get divorced. That little girl was me.

hmm. That got me thinking about the darkness in your photograph for a moment before I write this one.I see an Irony here, I love the ending of the poem but I won't love that if it happens really to anybody. My Best wishes are with you.

I can't remember much of my parents divorce but I can't remember a time when we were a happy family either. To this day I have to hear my mom rant about my dad and sometimes hear my dad rant about my mom. I can relate to this too.

My parents live apart, too.

It sucks. I always sort of knew that they didn't hate me, though, even though I couldn't understand why they separated until a few years after.

Great job! I hope you did get over their divorce though, because that sort of thing could keep hurting you otherwise.

Aw, that's sad. My parents didn't divorce becaues they weren't married, they just seperated, but I know exactly where you are coming from. It's such a true poem, I can relate to it well. You did a great job here, ka pai choice.
