![]() The Same MelodyA Story by TopHatGirl![]() Music is powerful. It can do anything.![]() I didn't need to focus on the notes as I played them on my guitar. I had played this song so many times my fingers few effortlessly across the strings. This was our band's first gig, at a club on 4th street. I guess we were okay, because people were dancing, and demanded enocroes. I didn't mind, as long as it kept my mind off of him. Max, our singer, was pretty good tonight, and didn't hit a flat. Lisa, the drummer, seemed chill and calm with the whole thing, no signs of nervousness. I guess I was the only one who had the butterflies. But it's not because of the people. After our last song was done, I put away my guitar and walked around the club. People were laughing, flirting, talking. It made my heart feel lonely. I longed for human contact. I sat down at a chair, and ordered a drink. Non-alcoholic, of course. I don't have my I.D. yet. A man about 5 years older than me sat down in the chair next to me. He looked like a perv, and I felt uncomfortable around him. "Can I buy you a drink, toots?" he asked me. "Uh, no thank you." I said, then walked away. I wanted human contact, but I wasn't THAT desperate. I wandered around, aiming for nothing. Your lying to yourself, I thought. Your looking for him, and you know it. I felt my eyes getting watery, so I pushed the thought away before I started crying. I walked outside, sick of being around happy people. The cold chilled my skin slightly, but I didn't mind. It made my insides feel warmer. I leaned against the wall, and observed giggling couples walk in and out. Suddenly, I felt a hand on my shoulder. "I thought you'd be out here." A voice said. I recognized that voice. I spun around, and found myself looking right in his face. He was still handsome. His brown hair covered one eye, and his dark eyelashes perfectly framed his chocolate brown eyes. "Hello, Tyler." I said. "Hello, Sophie." my name esccaping his lips made my heart soar. I supressed a smile. He cleared his throat. "Hey, come with me. I have someplace to show you." He grabbed my hand I pulled me into the back of his motorcycle. He passed me a helmet, and speed down the road. I didn't question what he was doing. I only wanted to enjoy the wind on my face, the warmth coming from him, and the smile on my lips. We arrived at the river. It had a bridge going across it, and it was always decorated with flowers and ribbons. He parked the motorcycle far away from it. He held my hand, and I held back. He pulled out a bag from the motorcycle, and when I tried to take a peek of what was inside, he playfully slapped me. We walked over to the bridge, and sat on the edge, over looking the river. "Heres what I want to show you." he said, then pulled out a violin from the bag. He took out a bow, then started to play. The music was soft and swwet and flooded my ears with warmth. I leaned into it, wanting to be there, in the music, forever. But he stopped. My mind snapped back to its full conciousness. Tyler smiled, then leaned in and pressed his lips to mine. His kisses were exactly like his music, perfect. I knew that I loved him and he loved me, because our hearts were beating in one melodious harmony.
