Monster Under the Bed

Monster Under the Bed

A Poem by Olivia H.

There's a monster underneath my bed,
And the beast eats me at night.
Toe by toe by defenseless toe,
And I am drenched in fright.
For what is it that I have done
That deserves me such pain?
I can barely sleep anymore,
As I'm hurt again and again.
It lurks in the dark and it makes quite clear
That it's thirsty for my blood
I hide myself under blankets and sheets,
But it still craves it in floods.
I can't take this monster anymore
It can have a feast
But there's problem with that fate...
I am the said beast.

This is a great poem! Awesomely well-written! Made me think that the monster was a true "little kid's" fear! But you say one thing very well, the monster we all fear are ourselves. Well done! I hope to read more of your poems soon!

Peace!

P.S. Would you mind reviewing some of my poems and/or short stories? I would appreciate it very much!

Thanks in advance!
