Melting

Melting

A Poem by Jodie

your laugh is soft, and painfully happy.
a voluptuous tune that bubbles
out of your mouth, and reaches
all the way up to the stars
((your twinkly crinkly eyes)).

maybe that's why i would paint my
aching heart gold for you,
beat it until it beats regularly,
and stick around
so i can drink your laugh in
the way i guzzled vodka
the first time i drank it.

drunk on the beaming creases
that light up your face,
enjoying the burn down my throat,
it hurts, it hurts, its good, i need you
to keep going,
don't stop,
don't bite your lip
you know gold melts eventually.

how could it resist your heat?

and now i'm a pool
around your size-eleven feet.
