A Woman Like ThatA Poem by Toolika RaniThe longing of a sensitive heart....what does a man want?
He needed warmth, But there was none, So, he embraced the cold! Cold, piercing into his flesh, his
skin, Yet unable to douse the fire within.
The darkness of night increases the
fear, Not of the spirits that roam around, But of humans everywhere found, With deceptive faces and alluring
sounds.
In a world so vast, he belongs to
none, Descends a gloom he tries to shun, Oh! The pangs of loneliness! Didn’t there exist anyone? Not even
one, Who could soothe his nerves, and let
him run, Into the arms so soft, he dares not
touch.
A bosom to place his head on, Like a child, Hands to be held, like that of a
goddess, A woman he could love with all his
heart. A woman who knows his guileless
worth.
