I drive by the house sometimesA Poem by tonymad11392A poem I wrote recently. It is inspired by a recent argument I had with someone in my familyI drive by the house sometimes
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood.”
-John-1:1-5
I look into the great expanse,
Constantly thinking, pondering,
Why did you leave me?
I drive by the house sometimes,
A perfect little existence that you have,
Did I taint it? Corrupt it?
You cut me off,
The guillotine blade,
Hissing through the air,
Then silence, staccato,
I am no longer myself,
Is that what it is?
I’m stronger,
I no longer lap up the milk,
The milk of dependence,
You ravaged my soul,
You damaged my essence,
The angels that float around you,
They hide you from me,
But like the phoenix I will rise again,
My life’s blood shall be rekindled
Like your Christ I will return,
The stone shall be rolled away,
The bloody garments left to sit in solitude,
Your angels shall herald my return,
Sound the trumpets,
As John foretold,
I shall rise from the sea,
And the seals shall all break,
You will no longer recognize me,
For all eternity, until existence melts away,
I shall be no longer cling to me or cling to you,
The sinews of your influence shall be cleanly cut,
I shall stand before the multitudes,
And preach of false prophecies,
And you will not listen,
You never have,
I shall preach,
And you will never hear me
