A collection of poetryA Poem by tonymad11392Various different poemsCarnival The wind rustles the leaves,
Sending them afloat,
Towards the carnival,
We are going to the Carnival,
Yes! To the Carnival we go,
Cotton candy intertwined,
With the cool autumn breeze,
Brilliant amber and fierce scarlet,
Surround us, all-encompassing,
Carousels, laughter, and Ferris wheels,
Love, joy, and a feeling of fulfillment,
Cling close to us like some unseen friend,
And we spend the evening laughing together,
At the palace of pleasures, our Eden,
The Carnival
Balloons
Watching them float away,
Spheres of color brilliantly shining,
In the orange glow of fading sunlight,
I cannot gaze upon them without thinking,
Of the joy they brought some small child,
I reached out and saved one,
Holding it in my hand I finally understand,
Childhood is like this balloon I hold,
Bright, brilliant, happiness, sheer bliss,
Slipping silently out of your hands,
Before you even realize that its gone
Questions
Recently a young girl,
Approached me with a purpose,
And she asked about morality,
About the nature of existence,
I simply laughed and told her,
That all of us sin and the Lord,
In his infinite wisdom and charity,
Will most surely forgive us of,
Our various misdeeds and faults,
“But if he doesn’t” I said,
“Than you shall worry no,”
“For it wouldn’t matter anyway”
“Because we would all be burning together”
Faults
When someone asked me if I sin,
My answer was simple,
“Do you?” I said,
“Yes” he answered
“Then why do you ask me?”
“We essentially have the same faults”
My answer proved sufficient,
For he quickly fell silent
