simple words

simple words

A Poem by Tony

Have you ever noticed how simple words can take on a different meaning when you combine them in certain ways? I've been pondering this for the past few days.

My definitions:

I: speaking of ones self
Simple and easy... the teller of the story, the speaker of words.

You: the person to which words or actions are being directed towards.
Again, a very simple word.

Goodbye: a happy parting of ways
Simple again, very easy to understand. We use this word several times daily.

Love: a feeling causing one to place other before self.
A simple yet strong word. We find it constantly in our lives.... music, books and on our lips.

Four simple words with depth and meaning. Very straight forward words that when used alone are strong and undeniable. Nothing about them brings about ill feeling or concern. It's when we string them together, in certain ways, that they can give us pause and heartace.

I love you, goodbye.....

Very effective. This poem really shows the thought whilst introducing a concept possibly not discussed before. The order makes the poem flow really nicely with lots of emotion and almost becomes a poem within a poem which really adds to the affect which it has on the reader.

Really nicely written.

So very clever this one.
You have disassembled a simple phrase and given it a sinister meaning. brilliant.
