Just Like You

Just Like You

A Poem by Thomas J Peltier

Dug in my mental pit,
Slipped in till I was numb,
in womb and tomb I fit,
forever I succumb.
I am the second echo,
infector, distant sun,
psycho cycle wrecker,
I learned that I should run.

just like you would've done,
just like you would've done,
my twisting codes of one's and ohs,
Shut your eyes and keep em closed.
Just like you would've done,
Just like you would've done,
the apple fell and started hell,
rotting till it’s all you smell.

trapped in a common coma,
unconscious, attic haunted,
forced to follow fears aroma,
taunted by the things we wanted. I am the cracked reflection,
defective, distant sun,
psycho cycle wrecker,
I learned that I should run

just like you would've done,
just like you would've done,
my twisting codes of one's and ohs,
Shut your eyes and keep em closed.
Just like you would've done,
Just like you would've done,
the apple fell and started hell,
rotting till it’s all you smell
