Fast Food Society

Fast Food Society

A Poem by Nisreen

The clocks ticking
Minds left by some screen

The lines we push
Hearts we shove

The gratifying meal
Wrapped up in sulfate

The fast wires
Reaching you anytime of day

A caffeine version
of papers flying in the air

Speed dating
Tindering along

The LOL of our BRB
even words have shortened

No slow down signs
in this madness of fast food souls

the malnutrition
of the heart

What will really bite my French fry is that some will think this is actually all about fast food, and the gist will go unappreciated. This is quite brilliant, and taken there by the last two lines..Just brilliant.
Thanks for sharing this 100/100

oh i like it ...sharp social commentary ..just the right sarcasm ..and wonderful closing lines ... "malnutrition of the heart" ...right on right on right on! the technology of our world is absolutely a two edged sword ... you should try this in an editorial page ;)

There is nothing better than a home cooked meal and a hug from an attentive friend. It's true what you say about the ways we live and Jacob's review speaks true. Thank you for your valued insight. Keep up the good work.

Thank You ........
the heart stays famished because the mind and body want instant gratification in this world of technology and sped up processes...

So true
Thank you J
I am glad I popped in to read this feature. Wonderful commentary on today's world. I am trying, and learning, to slow down and take a breath. That's hard sometimes when everything happens at top speed.
