A beautiful church

A beautiful church

A Poem by Nisreen

Soft drops of rain
descending

a heavenly sky

touched my fingers
during day

a door made
of the oldest wood

lit candles
glass painted windows

the calm bench
only with my thoughts

a prayer

At the Notre Dame

Nisreen, Even without a title or the mention of Notre Dame the symbolism is strong, the imagery pointing to a picture of a cathedral-like church. The piece exudes a feeling of tranquility and a calming touch. You are so in tune with the subjects about which you write. My greatest compliments. take care...dan

Thank You for your kind words
its the bench that catches my attention the most ..the calm bench ..i know just what you mean and it conjures an aged history filled with stories of everyday people ... in the calm of their prayer ... (the real Church eh!?) ... and who would not be in awe of Notre Dame ... your poem draws me in so sweetly ...your closing is powerful soft somehow for me ..nice one!
