The love in Hiding

The love in Hiding

A Poem by Nisreen

The nurse who carried
a patient to a chair

The teacher that stayed up
all night

The doctor that prayed
before touching your broken hand

The waiter that sent
extras to your table

The son that drew
you in school

The chef that blessed
your bowl of soup

The engineer that persevered
your right to ride safely

The housekeeper
that left a mint on your pillow

The paper boy
that aimed right

The team players
that raised your flags high

The bird that
sang by your window tonight

The man who wrote
so you can read

The woman who loved you
so you can fly

Those who gave up
so you can have some fun

The unborn
writing your future nights

A lovely series of thoughts, drifting gently down the page, all incidences of helpful, common moments in life where a simple act of care and generosity can bond two human beings together, for a moment, in a invisible swirl of human love and kindness.

We see incidents like this everyday. They pass us by mostly unacknowledged. If we truly open our eyes, our hearts and minds would fill with kindness and love for our fellow human beings.
A lovely poem, Nisreen. Gentle and flowing like mist on a cold winter morn.

Love hiding in plain sight. It really is the little things that allow love to shine. Your words made me feel grateful and loved. Thank you

Thanks ..... :)
This is great, writing about the overlooked and people most take for granted, little acts of kindness many don't give a second thought about.
Beautiful!

Thanks for sending me a read request. I'm glad I was able to read and visualize your words. My overall impression of this piece is very positive. This is a great, feel-good poem. A very clear comfort for anyone who might need it.

Be thoughtful of your tenses. This lines starts in the past tense and ends in the future tense.

"The bird that
sang by your window tonight"

My favorite line is the last:

"The unborn
writing your future nights"

Not exactly sure how you intended it, but to me it provokes this thought: There are a lot of works in progress that we are unaware of that are constantly shaping our futures. It's a great insight and a beautiful thought.

Thank you for your work!
