The love in Hiding

The love in Hiding

A Poem by Nisreen

The nurse who carried
a patient to a chair

The teacher that stayed up
all night

The doctor that prayed
before touching your broken hand

The waiter that sent
extras to your table

The son that drew
you in school

The chef that blessed
your bowl of soup

The engineer that persevered
your right to ride safely

The housekeeper
that left a mint on your pillow

The paper boy
that aimed right

The team players
that raised your flags high

The bird that
sang by your window tonight

The man who wrote
so you can read

The woman who loved you
so you can fly

Those who gave up
so you can have some fun

The unborn
writing your future nights

The act of love has many shapes and colours, it's sometimes shown in the simplest things that we endure. A fantastic writing.

You are welcome :)
It is so important to remember acts of love during these troubled times. Too often the negative gets all the attention when we should be focusing what is good in the world. Very beautifully said dear poet!

Such a complete litany of love that comes into view with subtlety and quiet ambience; a VERY clever idea put to use to illustrate that which we may not readily acknowledge as it happens, for lack of crystal clear sight of such. Very nicely done, Nisreen, and it heartens me to see your full name in use. Nice to "meet you." take care...dan

hey Dan ..... thank you :)
Love is hiding everywhere always comforting us but the sad part is we take them for granted, every single person in our everyday life somehow give love to us yet we forget to observe them... This is one of the most unique piece of poetry I have read after a long time... There is no highly stylish use of words but you have used simple words to create such an amazing thoughtful piece of poetry... Hats off!! Full ratings....

Eloquent write and loved the way you portrayed all the people and their professions. It is easy to forget that we all are indebted to one another and just by paying the fee we take things for granted.

This is, far & away, the best poem of yours I've read so far. As you know, I'm more of an organizational nut & I love the perfectly crafted form with stanza breaks that make perfect sense . . . drawing word images that are unmistakable in my mind . . . picking examples that are unbelievably honest & heartfelt & recognizable . . . I could go on & on . . . In short, there are literally armies of "nobodies" who toil daily to perfect their craft & no job is unimportant, becuz it's all done to contribute to the comfort & functionality of our everyday lives. Here's another one . . . the person who puts a card into my boxes (when ordering online) with a handwritten "thank you" . . . *smile* This is brilliant & meaningful. We can all try to be more mindful of the people who touch our lives.
