Unfamiliar

Unfamiliar

A Poem by Nisreen

Living for years
in solitude

A massive wall
a couple of good books

Some common sense

Kept a soul
in a gross mass of peace

i saw you
a spell was cast

suddenly

a vast world of empty
which consoled an old soul

had you

emotions started moving
the speed of it

was intoxicating

I figured i shut the door
Sealed all the windows

you seeped in
and all i can see is your aura

filling my every place

i took a deep breath in
dizzy with a form of euphoria

for a couple
i feel the high

until the brain kicks in
seeing the changes

all the freak out buttons are ignited

no place
can do

no book
can silence it

no friends
can laugh you away

no sleep
can shut you out my dreams

so i misbehave
you do not lash out

so i can hate you
for a second or so

unfamiliar
life flows through veins

that were more than ready to rest

refusing to figure out the blood
you ran in me

to be

venom
or

cure

I always love your creativity & specific descriptions & original observations on life. Sometimes I don't like the way you break your message up into little jagged chunks that take away from the smooth flow of reading. Some stanza breaks happen in places where one would not pause, so it feels like a bunch of disparate phrases, instead of a cohesive message. I understand if you insist on using this style, but I wanted you to know it doesn't add to your sparkling imagery so much.

i dont hate him lol
thanks wordman
sometimes we are so used to being alone, and safe...that we get scared to like someone...and we want to find some way to hate the other person, find something wrong with him or her so we can rant and rave and find reasons to get out...

i like it

Thank you ..........................
I was going to read it again, but I don't think my emotions can take it twice right now. You took me for that crazy ride. Well done.

lol ........... i should have a beware sign
thanks
yep once your heart wakes up to love and you get a taste of love then a world you had before can be a void of emptiness to go back to, until one day in the future you reflect on that time with a smile rather than pain.

its always slow but you get there!!
Some would reduce that to a mere chemical madness. "It too shall pass..." might be the resting point.

Humans are interesting in the way we function: head and heart; thoughts and emotions; object and subject... Your poem paints a picture of how these things are sometimes wrestled with.

when you put the heart out .... and suddenly it goes back on ....... oh its creepy
thanks :P
Amazing use of words. The words were gentle and strong at the same time. I like the feel of internal thoughts leading to good ending.

Most of us fear change. But we need change. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.
