To the shores of Tripoli

To the shores of Tripoli

A Poem by Tom Q
"

A Ten/40 challenge for Veterans Day.

"

Rain dissolves blackened snow

Protesters forever chide

But strangers do not know

Though pundits take a side

Friend have some patience

Drum roll an eerie measure

Tears march in cadence

Permanent separation a treasure

Newspaper deadline and

Montezuma doesn’t rhyme

This is wonderful, I like this. I loved the last line the best. Nicely written.
