Bronzed Bubbles

Bronzed Bubbles

A Poem by Tom Q

Balloons and hope deflate slowly

Dread stalks the carefree soul

Truth eludes intemperate possibility

Delaying the actors rightful role

Obsession with the mundane

A compulsive need to ignore

Expectation will not sustain

Truisms morph into folklore

Closed drapes encase a soul hiding

Pining for a rewritten yesterday

Small threads pulled, a moments unwinding

No simple retreat offered from this foray

Change makes life revolting when fought

Embraced it becomes the serenity long sought

The words all work. The images are great!. I like the rhymes and the overall scheme. I found it very hard to read rhythmically, though. I would work on your meter and try to make it move more smoothly. Try to envision it as lyrics and make it possible to sing the words.

I was especially fond of "Truth eludes intemperate possibility" "Pining for a rewritten yesterday" and "Small threads pulled, a moments unwinding"

You have a knack for a good turn of phrase.
Good job overall. I enjoyed this.
