A Poem by Tom Q

Ego overload me at the center

A jones for anonymous acceptance

Only to find a dress down mentor

A gratitude craving returns with a vengeance

Your compliment is a scornful tease

A joyful look is mockery

Oh how I need to please

Emotions always default to envy

Conversations morph into lies

Living for approval of these tales

The fraud corrodes my insides

Denial helps as reason fails

If only I could invert the thought

Would it change my emotional fraught?
