She had once compared herself To an ordinary leaf As if this magnificient creature Could never see what I see Just how she so captives In a silhouette of dancing moonbeams Words rendering breathlessness Every time that she speaks Forgetting of the warmth The flutters of love that she brings As humbled as the giving servant Who takes of nothing So if she is but a leaf Than leaves there will forever be Sprinkling the earth in majestic colours And filling the trees Or one lone falling goddess Caught on a breeze Circling in joyous motions About uplifted feet Beautiful she is for the selfless tears She has cried For the heart so enveloping She fits the world inside So if she is but a leaf Than she is a garden As far as the eye can see Enchanting a wayward spirit With a glimpse of fulfilled dreams Where laughter flickers like fireflies In loving blue depths And the radiant company Adds a hint of bounce to each step Where the darkness never once Losses sight of the light She the eternal flame that ever burns Through the chill of the night So if she is but a leaf Than upon a faeries bed Is where I sleep Wrapped within the fragrance of her sweet embrace At her side I will always be Counting the seconds towards coming days When she will find the courage to ask of me Of all the little splendid things That I have seen For in that fleeting moment Soft lips would brush across mine For in that fleeting moment We would misplace all sense of time Then I would gaze into oceanic eyes Causing ones knees to grow so weak If only to ensure that she hears Each and every word that I will speak Then I will whisper that what I see Has always been so much more Than just an ordinary leaf
This was simply amazing, a work of genius. You have a way with words that you make the person feel every emotion throughout the poem. Really good thank you for sharing this. I hope a writer like yourself may review some of my work and give me some insight on how to improve.
Many thanks,

A poem that is full of delight... heartfelt and so sensitive in its delicate response to the trembling leaf, in its conjuring up of dreams and enchantments, of delicate but deep feelings of pain and pleasure. What woman would not love to be caressed by your lips, to feel your breath in her ear, your warm embrace at her side... It makes this reader ache with longing, looking on, as I do, with brightened eyes, yet shedding a tear for the pity of it all...

As I do so cherish the moments when you grace my page with charming words that flutter within ones chest, swelling with a wishful sigh. Perhaps you should be asking yourself the same... "What woman would not love to be caressed by your lips..." So love your stunning thoughts.
Nice how you keep bringing it back to the leaf and then expand that into something much larger, much more grandiose. Nothing wrong with just being a leaf if it is done with grace.
