Children to Killers

Children to Killers

A Poem by tokyo frizbee

I think you were all beautiful babies
Not that long just the end of the 80s
Did no one love you or make you feel safe
As you grew up on that council estate
When you fell off a wall or had to go to big school
Did you look around for love but find nothing at all
Did ya dads never say sort your life out
Come here son let me show you the way
Did you learn it from rap song about violence
Then no wonder you are all here today

What you did to that boy was the wrong thing
Its not right you gone kill that young man
You chased down the street and then cornered
You kick him and stab him and stab him and kick him and stab him and stab him and stab him
Then through a heart made of gold
you stab him six more
As he lay there all bleeding and dying any chance of a life almost gone
Did you look in his eyes when he shouted
Please mate I aint done nothing wrong

Something changed you from children to killers
Now your freedoms no longer a must
The police they did set out to catch you
And your case
Well it didn't make bust
Do you still feel like you're a big man
When you are sitting alone in your cell
Or do you feel like you did as a small boy
Frightened and lonely as hell
