I Cannot ReadA Story by Jane Lockheart
I see you all the time. We talk. We became friends. To me, I thought we were close. I seem to have this problem. I cannot read people very well. I think they feel a certain way, but really, they feel the complete opposite. I would love to master this skill. The skill of knowing what one feels. Perhaps it is not a skill, but a gift that I have not been blessed with.
We have countless inside jokes. Every day we have a good laugh. I read the situation. I read it as flirting. I read it wrong. It was nothing more then a friendly conversation. At first I always feel that the other is the problem. But as time goes on, as the situation of the misunderstanding is stuck on re-peat, I discover that it is I who has the problem. I must fix this problem of not being able to read. I have run into this issue more then once. How can I learn to read a language that is not spoken?
