Lack

Lack

A Poem by toderoopoo

The lack of an embrace between a mother and child.

No eye was blinked, no question raised,
'it's not my thing was what was said'

Undeterred the child pushed on,
with arms wide open and hope in her yes,
she was once again turned away

A joke it became, a joke it would remain
Until the day came the child needed an embrace
but turned to nobody for fear of rejection, it built up inside her
'it was nobodies thing'

Never knowing the worth of an embrace

But always understanding the lack of an embrace
