Sleeping

Sleeping

A Poem by Todd Kelley
"

A poem I wrote for my wife on our 1st wedding Anniversary.

"

Intertwined,

Your heartbeat and mine

My soul attached to yours

like part of some grand design

So many times

I stumbled on my grind

But the love i feel for you

has grown stronger, it seems I find

I think of corny lines

when you come to mind

like: "you lips are sweet like wine"

or: "for your love, I pine"

or: "I wanna bump and grind"

or: "Goddamn, Wifey, YOU SO FINE!"

In 20/20 hind (sight)

I need you to be mine

I need to hold you in the bad times

And watch in awe when you shine

I hate to call myself a writer. That implies I have some type of 'gift' or some type of 'training'. That is not the case. I'm a creative person who needs to find outlets to express himself. I've never.. more..
