FEAST FASCINATIONA Poem by toby thomasIts a poem written on a dream and shows the struggle between my mind and the world. Its kind of abstract so you can paint a description with your imagination.A sense of unease and a presence in disguise. Stink of warm blood and skin was breezing in the air. Hover flies buzzing in a motion amazingly precise. I wanted to move away but as a butcher’s tied lamb I waited
in despair. Opened my eyes slowly as I knew it was all a dream and I was
worlds apart. I was in a palace with all the riches in the world and
treasures of all nations. Palace so amazingly extensive it touches the extent of my
imagination. Where thousands wrecked ones stood staring and waiting for
the supper to start It was a feast of the riches with affluent platter and
silverware I looked on the poor staring from a distance and knew life
wasn’t fair But who shall I be to be the judge. No more than a puppet in
a play. I couldn’t feel my limbs and I wondered is this a test? Am I the steward or the honorable guest I was wondering this whole time what will they serve. That can match up to the realm of this place. I could see a reflection of myself when I looked down and I
could see my own face. It was the silver platter beaming in blood. I heard a voice saying “Let’s eat up his brains, that will
give us his ego his traits and his pain” I wondered and wondered but it was too late The lid was opened, the crowd roared, the feast began AND IT WAS MY HEAD ON THAT PLATE!!! © 2014 toby thomasReviews
