Set a Watchman

Set a Watchman

A Poem by Tobias Søgaard
"

I love the watchman as a metaphor. Nothing evil can harm me when I am within the love of Jesus.

"
Set a watchman on my street
when the night is dark and scary.
He'll keep at bay the dark each night
with songs of warmth and light.

From my room I hear him cry:
"Begone you foulest beasts!
I'll watch this town 'til break of dawn,
'til the sun rises once more."

"With my voice I will condemn
you to your rightful place.
And with my songs of warmth and light
I'll scare away the thieves."

So sing, oh watchman, scream aloud
the words you know by heart:
That all is well in this dark street,
that all is well with me.
