A Moment in Paradise

A Moment in Paradise

A Poem by Tobias Søgaard

Perfection
is how I would describe this moment
We are like frozen in time
the world around us keep spinning
but in this room
the globe has stopped its everlasting dance

Your hands are rushing weaving yarn back and forth
faster and faster
only to sigh when the realization hits
that it must all be undone

You brush your curls from the blue pools of your eyes
shiny and overflowing,
Sparkling with joy
that also shows in your smile
A smile so warm and welcoming I want to fall back into it
like a stack of pillows

Yet I know I can't
for like your weaving
everything must be undone

As the weaving unravels
we map each other's
consciousnesses
drawing logical conclusions
based on information given
Some knots present themselves
difficult
Others are straightforward and my mind wanders

What happens when all the knots have been loosened?
What happens when the mapping is complete?
Will you and I draw logical conclusions
or will mistaken hearts repeat?
