Sonnet

Sonnet

A Poem by Tobias Søgaard
"

Creative title, I know.. This was an assignment for English class a couple of years ago: to write a shakespearian sonnet.

"
My love is like a summers day
She makes all my sorrows go away
When I’m with her I can not cry
I would never want to say goodbye

Her lips are like the apples red
Golden hair is flowing from her head
Her voice is like the songs of larks
but she left me with a broken heart

If she were mine I’d treat her well
If she were mine I’d be out of hell
More beautiful than stars above
So beautiful is the girl I love

But I’m afraid that she’s a dead end
Cause she’s in love with one of my friends
