Weeping Willow

Weeping Willow

A Poem by TM "Ree" Tate
"

about woman; using a willow tree as a metaphor

"
Weeping willow~

Swaying gracefully
in errant breeze.
Hiding sorrow and pain
in cascading leaves.

Caressing rich soil
with feathery fronds.
Gently but firmly tethered,
by earthly bonds

Fluid strength
bends during the storm.
Never breaking,
keeping perfect form.

Roots buried deep
to keep from dying.
Listen close!
Do you hear it crying?

Lovely poem with such a wonderful metaphor. It reads with such grace and flows smoothly as each word is spoken. The imagery fills each line and allows the reader to be there un der the Willow tree. Bravo on such an amazing write.

This is lovely. I've always adored Weeping Willows, they are so poetic in themselves. You capture its feeling beautifully. Wonderful rhyme and flow.
