Letter To My BullyA Poem by tmpebblesI was a victim of school bullying. This poem was started in elementary school and revisited, added to last year. Perhaps it can help someone. I'm here for anyone currently being bullied
Attempting to walk school halls with grace
Defamation of character loomed like a haunting face. Without merit, you labeled me a freak Words of defense were laughed upon, and rendered weak. With naive innocence, I asked what made me your targeted one. You simply declared, "Seeing you crumble is fun" Daily, it was your calculated mission to strip me bare. Emotional and mental game set in motion my despair. Over time, I willingly surrendered all Repercussions greater than the fall Lost sight of the person I yearned to be Opting to play a role you penned on me Though drowning among your brutal reigns I felt too defeated to end the pain In the aftermath, I traveled spiriling roads. Soul wandered in search of a peaceful abode. Then one day, a revelation set in Though years passed, I still allowed you to win. In that moment, I made a firm choice No more would I reside with a silent voice. Life took a dramatic turn that day Giving myself permission to lead my way My journey of self-discovery was long
