Lifes Journey

Lifes Journey

A Poem by Tom Moll

It’s amazing how much you learn

Over time how much you earn

Over time how much you lose

In one day how much you choose

In one moment how much you refuse

In one month how sad you can be

In two more how much you can see

In three more I feel so free

In seven months there’s a new me

But I still feel the same

Because there was no one to blame

I'm still me, I guess

I'm just less of a mess

Trying to find out who I could be

Trying to discover the new me

Searching as far as the eye can see

Searching, as far as can be

For what I want, because I don’t know

This internal struggle doesn’t show

And then there’s you

The one person that’s been so true

The one person I know I knew

The one, and I didn’t have a clue

The one, which is you

Live, love, learn, and lose

Then you hurt, learn, and use

All the different substances abuse

Fight, struggle, then come through

All the while thinking of you

How you have always been so true

How you’ve always been there for me

Now, I can finally see

Now that I'm past you, I'm free

Happy as can be

But you’ll always be number one

And I won’t slow down, I’ll run

Until this journey is done

There’s no way I’ll come undone

Because in my heart I have you

‘Till the end, you’ll see me through
