Closure

Closure

A Poem by Tom Moll

After all the times we spent

After all the things I said and meant

After everything was said and done

After everything came undone

After sadness, after pain

After all the words said in vane

After it all, all I can say

Is that I don’t want to be part of your life today

Its dead, its gone and its over

Maybe this is my way of getting closure

The closure I never got to see

And I think you can agree

You got your closure in other ways

A new boyfriend every few days

You put it off until it was gone

And when you woke up, it was a new dawn

You were free

As happy as could be

And all you could see

Is whoever was next to you

But it wasn’t the same for me.

So I think you can agree

That I can do what I want to do

Without you

And you can be who you want to be

Without me

Its dead, it’s gone, its in the past

And we obviously didn’t last

You know who I used to be

And if you open your eyes I think you’ll agree

That you no longer know me

And I no longer know you

We both know this is all true

I don’t want to be part of your life today

I don’t want to hear about your boyfriend everyday

I don’t want to know how you are

Because after all the times we were so far

When I was so alone and I lost me

I needed someone, anyone to help me see

I was so sad, but you only made it worse

The resentment is something you can never reverse

I forgive and forget, but I still see the scars

And it’s a reminder of who you really are.

Its in the past, its done, its over

So leave me alone and let me have my closure.
