Thanksgiving with my Guy

This is short poem about the day we began dating, Thanksgiving 1997. A day that began a wondeful journey for us.

It has been twelve wonderful years ago;

that I first held your warm, tender hand.

A single touch, and then I’d know;

we were part of an incredible plan.

Of course, it is always a wonder;

the many things God has in store.

For I heard this incredible thunder;

then the whole world was ours to explore.

The many years we’ve had together;

have been full of both times, good and bad.

But our God has helped us to weather;

each time, with acceptance, we’ve had.

I would not trade one minute with you;

for all the years with anyone else in creation.

All the joys and the heartaches we’ve been through;

have been a cherished and rich transformation.
