I stand at the edge of the sea

I stand at the edge of the sea

A Poem by Travis Green

I stand at the edge of the sea

I stand at the edge of the sea, heart climbing, serene

wet and dawn, the water’s edge progresses and withdraws along the sea,

motionless sky above my head, eagles circling the clouds, sea gulls embracing

the breeze, gliding in the air, while tilted trees rocking back and forth beside the beach house,

small deposits of salted, white grains of sand sprinkled and oozing in between

my toes, the raged sun flashing down on my skin, painting it

a baking burnt tan, sweat sliding down my face onto the dirt stained ground,

as spiraling waves rustle in the distance, sweeping on the

pebbled beaches, dancing with sea shells, as birds fly nearby humming

their song, my soul tuned to the crashing melody of this place,
