Here is My Everything

Here is My Everything

A Chapter by TL Boehm
"

its a GODPOEM - if you don't like poems about faith - don't read it.

"

Here is my broken heart

Here is my shattered life

Here are all my faults and failures

As a woman a mother and wife

All the promises I've broken

All the hateful things I've said

All the life I left unspoken

Wasting my breath upon the dead

Here is my sweat and sacrifice

Here is my blood and pain

My hollow effort to pay some price

Worry wasted for no gain

All the lies I cling to

All the truth I threw away

All the darker thoughts I bring you

Waste my steps and run astray

Here’s the sum of my existence

Here’s the hardest part to learn

This wretched pride and persistence

Stokes a bonfire set to burn

All I am at the end of me

All damage done that I could do

All that’s left is the love that sets me free

Everything comes from you

This wretched pride and persistence -- great lines...these really grabbed me.

A heartbreaking write, but there is that shred of hope that I have come to expect from your work--those last two lines that speak of "love setting you free" made me smile. Strong, emotional and honest work.

Thank you for reading, Claire
Beautiful. This comes across as the hidden pain of a family woman. I do get a sense of surrender, too. I enjoyed it.

Thank you so much Fairytale.
We are human and we are flawed. Our baggage is heavy but we have been blessed with one thing, the ability to love and it lightens our load and as you so eloquently state it also sets us free. The poem itself was intensely beautiful.

I felt the pain in your words, I felt the honesty. I could tell this was written from your heart. The entire poem is wonderful and the last two lines are such a beautiful testament of faith,

Thank you so much, I am humbled that you read me.
TL, I felt the lines you wrote about your heart, your life, and regrets in words spoken and unspoken were so full of brave truth. It is hard to put the painful things down in hard copy. The perceived failings, the sacrice, the blood sweat and tears... I am not a churchy woman. I think spirituality is a private thing. God is seen in the tiniest droplets and felt in the barest breezes. Beautifully done. Angi~

I sang this song in church years ago...
I loved your poem.
God is love. Who does not enjoy the expression of love?

I don't go to church any longer...
I have found church to be a place where people pile on so much crap and expectation and judgement I no longer can recognize Love...
I find God in nature, in honest and accepting relationships and in contextualized, intelligent, Spirit led exploration of the scriptures found in the Bible and in many other forms of literature.
I found a little reflection of God today in your poetry.
Thank you for sharing your heart here Tammy!

Thank you Tom!
Your last stanza, especially the first four lines, are insanely beautiful. Love the melodic nature of this considering the subject matter. Thanks for sharing, I hope your questions will have clear answers in the future!!
