Scroat

Scroat

A Poem by tj808

Spiralling down amongst the pigeons and the peevish

They saw a boat come past, steaming and blag, Smoke

wafted waves and sharks. Calamity spoke a dark cloud

opened Drained and disaster'd - The bowdeck broke.

Cunning attitudes Of buoys benign - and plebian -

Socrates groaned Cursed the ships' downward dredge.

The actor started - The Shakespearian fancier darted

And drove a rift between the pledge, Longships paused

To catch their drift Vi-Kings splintered, aloft! AHOY!

They scoffed - Pinched and graped They suffered endlessly.

'Course they did.

Cannot the Bohemian Raptors Stalk and stake their waters?

Sigh and keep abreast their beat? Rome and roam these dark

quarters, For light is only eager for the weak. Suffer not you

little children Don't bemoan those dark skies. Purse your lips

And sucker thy cuddle. Grow not with the wisest For they

preach only lies. Seraphym Seraphym latch not hope.

Seraphym 'Tis not an earthly thing to do. Screw tight thin

soul And fake not your growl

for You cannot bring this wretch back to you.

About
I've written poetry since my teens. I am now 50+. I have changed my style over the years and I read my old poetry with some embarrassment - as I will in 10 years time when I read the poetry I write no.. more..
