Incarnate Impression

Incarnate Impression

A Poem by tj808

Thyme and time lilywhites collide; an essence.

Lacy parasol, shades: greys and sun yellow,

Flowing, falling, dancing. She stood still

in shade still endearing. Softness whispering

in the wind. Sighing, she wondered lazily

to nowhere, teasing. Mystery. The dark

wood stood: Threatening. Leaves protecting

grace. She spoke. She gleamed with icy stare.

Come. To the castle, come. Enter the dark,

moss walls. Dew and due. Soft moist.

To the turret. To the highest.

I cannot stay with you. I cannot be with you.

Spare me one last kiss, for my memory will deceive.

Let it linger, wet. Touch me. Touch my soul

and raise my dream. For the man I must marry

Is only for this time. Your darling of my pleasures

Your favour is my soul. I leave you for another age -

Tho’ Not for eternity.

About
I've written poetry since my teens. I am now 50+. I have changed my style over the years and I read my old poetry with some embarrassment - as I will in 10 years time when I read the poetry I write no.. more..
