At least, the narrator has the strength to look back upon the past and reflect about how he/she got there. This is a nice poem about the longing and desire to be understood and not be alone along the winding path of life. Well expressed.

I've heard it said that "hindsight is 20/20" And I think this poem aptly states that. It has a tinge of yearning in it, but common sense as well. Logic and Love can co-exist, but in a symbiotic limbo and in the long run, one must rule out, as it seems in this poem.
Lovely work, once again!~P
Often times we learn from our past mistakes, or choices, and sometimes it hurts too much to look back.
This poem expresses the pain of loss, whether to the cold hands of death, or the warm bed of another lover.
It is a sad piece, but I see a hope in it.
After all, there is some road left, the speaker hasnt run out of hope yet, there are still paths ahead. I think you should do a continuation. Build from this and see where he goes. I like it.
It's a sad poem, and reminds me of a story I once heard about a man who lost his wife, and couldn't seem to keep in his mind that she was dead. He kept turning to talk to her, or thinking that everytime he heard something she would like that he would have to remember to tell her, and then he would remember that she was gone.
