InsomniaA Poem by xX-tito24-XxNothing remotely good, nothing witty, no satire. no sarcasm, just a pathetic spill of emotions...Eyelids heavier than a thousand suns, Eyes bloodshot, the pure white marbled with streaks of red. Pupils dilated, eyes more black than brown...
A yawn shatters the silence And the silence becomes deafening. I close my eyes lay my head on the pillow I toss I turn sheet on sheet off two pillows one pillow too cold too hot.
Minutes pass then hours the notion of sleep turns from a hope into a vain prayer. Another sleepless night Sanity slipping away reflections in the mirror twisting and shaping themselves shadows dancing like ballerinas across the walls wisps of smoke waltzing through the air dancing to the heartbeat which is louder than anything I have ever heard.
Always something to worry about Always someone else's problems to distract lying on the bed, finally still my skin is crawling bedbugs burrow and chew their way through me. I have been forgotten by the sandman yet again.
Hours pass by the shadows never tire of dancing the first few rays of light leak through the open window shades of gray and yellow. One more night that I've spent dreaming of a good night's sleep. Dreams for an insomniac God's cruel joke. One more sleepless night and I end it Forever... © 2008 xX-tito24-XxFeatured Review
