Many Moons

Many Moons

A Poem by Choosing Life

Many moons ago she found laughter, attached to his hip,

For they were on each others’ side…

Smiling came as naturally as breathing,

While she swam in the pool of his eyes,

While she ran in the cool of his sighs..

She grew wings and did fly..

While autumn danced on the cleft of his chin,

And spring knew it’s home in the dimples of his grin

She did rest underneath the warmth of his skin,

Hidden from the fears that no longer held her captive within..

But that was many moons ago,

Before eternal winter set in , Goodbye filled the place he once lived in

And the last summer eve did watch the sun hide away

As tears graced her and guided his exit…

A beautiful and sad poem. I like the gentle story in your words.
"Smiling came as naturally as breathing,
While she swam in the pool of his eyes"
Your words told a complete tale in a few words. A excellent poem.
