Water Colors Painting My MInd

Water Colors Painting My MInd

A Poem by Choosing Life

Lilac Dreams

Watercolors of love emerge to fade to nothing...
Is this the way it was
because it never came?

Yet why do they stain my heart this way...
I taste the pain.
and chew on it like gum
that has lost it's flavor
till my jaws hurt
and this is my last we piece
as I release these thoughts
into the wind like balloons
hoping that maybe one will land near you
and travel over the moon...
water colors of love
that came and went to soon
melted and turned to blue
as our hello became goodbye
all in the mueseum of my mind.

Lovely job, delicately wistful. Bubbles --> Millais? But the strong chewing on the gum gives a very real physical presence to it.
