Scratching The Surface Of The SunA Poem by Choosing LifeShe prays for him in Aramic A language not native to her tongue And scribes his heart in hieroglyphics Scratching the surface of the Sun Rising like a phoenix From the east She leaves him not undone Speaking in ancient metaphors She blesses him more By turning her back So that decisions made will be clear And she tightens up the slack He has yet to hear Kissing his inner With sweet sayings like salve to his soul Changing the form of... His heart that was once coal Now brightly shines a diamond And from the distance she reminds him... That his visions are a pleasure to behold A birthing of his spirit yet to be told. She sees in his profile the heart of Egyptian Pharaohs And through knowing him she knows blessed So in the distance she stays~ Even though they will no longer share ancient days... She prays for him in Aramic A language not native to her tongue And scribes his heart in hieroglyphics Scratching the surface of the Sun... And they remain one Without ever touching But their spirit does know love.... © 2008 Choosing LifeReviews
